"Elderly driver injured in hit-run crash at Clearwater post office"

An elderly woman was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday afternoon on Belcher Road near Rainbow Drive. According to police, Ellen Sweeney, 79, of Largo was traveling south on Belcher at 12:30 p.m. when a Dodge pickup truck turned into her path as it tried to enter an "exit only" area of the post office at the corner of Belcher Road and Rainbow Drive. Authorities said Sweeney was not able to stop and her car hit the rear of the truck, traveling another 200 feet before crashing into a sign near Rainbow Drive. According to police, the truck continued through the parking lot and left the scene. Sweeney was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities describe the truck as a silver or gray 2005-2006 Dodge pickup truck with tinted windows that has damage to the rear quarter panel and the back end of the truck. "Pasco man dies after motorcycle crash in Brooksville"

A 57-year-old New Port Richey man died Thursday after suffering injuries in a motorcycle crash near downtown Brooksville on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Steven L. Millard was traveling west on E Jefferson Street near Asmara Street at about 4 p.m. when he lost control trying to negotiate a turn, according to the Brooksville Police Department. Millard left the roadway, struck a street sign and was thrown from the motorcycle.

He was flown to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa with serious injuries. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma, police said.

An investigation continued Thursday afternoon.
