Truck hits riding mower, killing one and injuring another

A 45-year-old Hernando, Fla. man crossing a Citrus County highway on a riding lawn mower Friday night died after he was hit by a pickup truck. His passenger was injured. The riding mower's driver, Rex Siglin, 45, was attempting to cross State Road 200 from the west shoulder down East Brave Lane in Citrus County, a Florida Highway Patrol report said. At the same time, a 2005 Ford F-350 pickup, driven by Woodrow Story, 30, of Homosassa, was traveling north approaching the same intersection. Siglin failed to yield the right of way to Story and was struck by the pickup, the report said. Siglin was taken to Citrus Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. Siglin's passenger, Terry Rowe, 63, also of Hernando, Fla., sustained minor injuries.
