SARASOTA COUNTY Bicyclist dies after being hit by vehicle An Englewood bicyclist died Friday after being struck by a vehicle in Sarasota County- According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gerald Albert Neuman. 79. was struck on State Road 776 bv a vehicle being driven by Geoffrey Older. 69. of Sarasota. According to the FHP report. Older was accelerating in a reckless manner and lost control of the vehicle. Older's vehicle struck the bicyclist, ejecting Neuman. The vehicle continued to travel, colliding with a stop sign and then a utility pole. ' The FHP reported the crash was not alcohol related and charges are pending.
