ESTERO Victim's family files intent to sue county An Estero family whose 18- year-old son died in a Corkscrew Road crash Feb. 10 has notified Lee County of its intent to sue. A notice of intent to sue has been filed with the county. It gives the defendant brief time to research and decide whether to settle. Once a cer­tain time period is up, the plain­tiff can sue. Danton Gunter died after los­ing control of his vehicle as he tried to navigate a curve west of Bella Terra Boulevard. Gunter collided with a Lee County Department of Trans­portation truck. Mike Figueroa, a risk man­ager with Lee County, said the county received the notice "within the last couple of days." He said he couldn't comment further.
