"Man facing charges in traffic crash that killed bystander"

A Tarpon Springs man is facing charges after investigators said he caused a traffic accident that killed a bystander in June 2010.

Joshua Henry Cross, 21, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide on Tuesday.

Investigators said his arrest stems from an accident on the evening of June 14, 2010 in Holiday. According to the FHP report, Luz Quiles, 73, was driving a Toyota Camry east on Louis Avenue in Holiday when she attempted to make a left turn onto Lucas Street.

Investigators said Cross was driving a 1997 Suzuki motorcycle west on Louis Avenue at the same time, and he collided with the Toyota. Cross was traveling "well above the posted speed limit," troopers said.

The impact from the crash sent Cross' motorcycle flying across the intersection, where it collided with Ronald Dickens, who was walking east along the northern edge of Louis Avenue, investigators said.

Dickens was killed as a result of the impact.

Cross was booked into the Pasco County Jail on $10,000 bond.
